Broken Leaf Shackle
Hey guys i was wondering as i broke the leaf shackle on the driver side rear leaf. My question are they hard to replace, it looks like it broke right in half. can i get some input please i need to get it back on the road asap only vehicle.
Depends on how rusty....
The bolt sometimes seizes in the bushing.
Look closely at the hanger, the part riveted to the frame....
Have seen those rust out also.
The labor is only .4 hrs for the shackle
And .8 hrs for the bushing
This part comes with new bolts and a bushing.

Ya it rusted like right in half can came through the bed and made a nice dent in the bed. so im hoping some heat and penitrating oil she'll come apart. just need a lift as i don't have a jack big enough to lift and let the suspension hang.
When I did mine (both sides) I used an angle grinder to take off heads of the bolts
Heatin and Beatin did the rest.
To get it up in the air, I use 4 cinder blocks with the cinder caps set on them. Then put my floor jack up on them and lift from the bumper. Works like a champ and rock solid
