Default brakes stuck

Ok guys need some help. I was comin home today for town and noticed my front driver side brake is hanging up on me. The rotors calipers and pads barely have 5k on them so what could be wrong here. And another thing my back driver side drum brake is excreting a thick black fluid that gets on my rims and pipes that is almost like tar but I know it aint so any help would be much appreciated

The brakes sticking is most Likely a collapsing line. The thick tar like substance should be gear oil from a leaking wheel seal.

Yea those Brake lines don't last long and it seems many people replace everything in the system but those in some cases.

They break down on the inside. They deteriorate, screw up the calipers, plug and blow up like a balloon vs stopping the truck. The lines won't burst, they just bulge vs powering the twin piston calipers.

Ford calipers are alright, but the rotors suck lol. Best rotors for the money that I've found are made by Brembo. Nothing special, they're like OEM but their beefy, thicker and can handle quite a bit more heat and I haven't had to replace a set of Brembo's yet.

If you want the best lines, you'll like the Russells. Braided and will be the last line you need to purchase for that vehicle. Those are pricey tho. You can just go with OEM and they'll last 3 years or so before they start to go south. Unless you let you fluid get black that is.

9 chances out of 10 when a caliper is sticking its miss diagnosed. yes a caliper can sizer but a caliper is nothing more than a hydraulic cylinder the lines are what are usually the culprit. a parts house like advanced or O'reilley's will be the cheapest there really is no better or worse. they are all about the same unless you go braided then you get what you pay for. flush as much fluid out as possible to keep the system clean. don't use old brake fluid it attracts moisture. Call around find the hose and get the truck back on the road
