Default Brakes.....

So tuesday of this week my brake light came on so I checked the parking brake etc. Using my foot to pull up the pedal no change. Disconnected battery no change. Now driving home tonight, went to slow down zero brakes... When is completly to the floor there is little to no friction to slow down. What would cause this? I have brand new front rotors and pads will putting them on fix this ?

If your pedal is going to the floor it meens you have no fluid. Check all your lines and connections for leaks. Also my dads old old work truck had an abs problem and the brakes just would stop working. But I've never read of anybody else having this problem.

Check the lines for rust / corrosion, where the metal brake line, meets the flex line (rubber line that connects to the caliper). Especially on the drivers side, if you have a lot of salt (which from your name I assume you do), they tend to go. And you'll lose all your fluid. I would check front and back too. If that's your problem, make sure you bleed the system properly too. If you don't, you'll still have no brakes.

Turned out to be the line that runs down the rear axle
