I am in need of help finding a replacement brake line for my truck. Ford parts and many dealerships have been no help and I am desperate. The line I need runs along the frame on the driver's side. The leak is almost directly under the driver's seat. Does anybody have a diagram of the brake line layout or know which line this might be? I don't want to have to splice a line in with how rusty that line is. Here should be all the important info: 99 f-150 Lariat 5.4L 4WD Extended cab short box 4 wheel disc/4 wheel ABS 9.75 ring gear. If anybody has anything that could help, that would be great!
I had mine burst next to the gas tank (yay!) so i did the whole truck. I used a combo of pre made hoses and hard lines for rear axle and rolled my own going front to rear. Basically a straight run with a few bends. Not technically hard, just a PITA. Personally I would do all the brake lines just in case.
I used this line from Amazon. Easy to bend and flare.
The 2000 f150 I keep on the farm, it's broken 3 brake lines in a year and a half. I just said hell with it after that and just make do with the weak brakes it has without fluid
No fluid, how are you stopping ? A series of E-brake puckers, or the more aggressive Flintstone method ?
No, it still stops. The pedal goes almost all the way to the floor before it grabs. The truck stays in 4H all the time because the shift linkage is worn out and it's nearly impossible to get it back in 4wd if it's taken out. On hills, I drop it down to first while in 4H and it just barely rolls without hitting the gas. That way I can stop easier. I'm afraid the e brake cable would snap as rusty as it is if I tried to use it.
that truck is my uncles. He can't sell it because of a lein (that's what he says anyway) but he gave me the key so I can use it on the farm. The rear drum brakes have been disconnected. The front discs is all it has with no brake fluid
I wont let my girlfriend drive it. I'm afraid she'll run into something not knowing how to handle a vehicle with nearly no brakes
This is the truck
my truck is a little to nice to be abused on the farm unlike that one. I still haul hay, wood and stuff with it but would rather use the red one Next too my dad's dodge. Lol

sounds like you have just enough fluid between the master and provably one caliper and that’s what’s helping you stop. That’s how mine was and when I trailered it’s home and drove it into the driveway, I think the last hose may have burst. Currently, I have to replace the line I mentioned, the right rear caliper, and the front right hose at the wheel. Hopefully I can get them all apart or I’m gonna be buying/making an awful lot of brake line. I’m still hoping to get at least another 50k out of mine, so it’s worth fixing to me.

Their not too hard to replace on these trucks. Make sure you adjust it right. I dont know what it is with 10th gens and busting brake lines. My '99 I had for my first truck never busted one. That truck never gave me any problems it was a fantastic truck. Till an idiot ran into it and totaled it. My papaws old '97 busted one too. In the same spot as that red one
