Bolts vs Rivets
In the not-to-distant future I will be replacing a power window motor and/or actuator. Everything I have seen on this involves cutting the rivers to remove this assembly. Everything I see also has the maintainer using bolts when reassembling.
Is there a reason I shouldn't just go ahead and use my rivet gun to put it back together?
Seems awful easier and more secure to use rivets.
Just seeking the voice of experience, here.

Rivet it if have large enough. Aluminum rivets to take seconds to drill out. Ive done that on a vehicle. They may be larger than you can do though
I've never replaced one twice on a vehicle. Not a real concern imo.

The problem with rivets is having exactly the right type and size on hand. You need a healthy assortment for them to be handy enough.
I like my old air rivet gun is a favorite, usually the go to, quick and easy.
Never a problem removing them... that's quick and easy as well.
They look much better....more professional.

If you can work a squirt gun you can rivet....luck is not required. Have a kid do it for yuh....do yuh have a sister ? I'm sure she could pull it off.

Rivet gun is a great tool I don't get to use mine enough. There's times where you only have one sided access to some things and it's indispensable., good for things that might otherwise vibrate loose as well.
My general fields of expertise involve hurting people, breaking things, and causing destruction on a level that I am not exactly comfortable with. So, when I ask--and I do, humbly ask--for an opinion, I want you to be assured that yours is the last one I want, need, or respect.
