Default Blower

My blower in my truck for me heat/ac works sometimes. When I hit the black box under the passenger glove box it starts to work again. Any ideas on the problem and how to fix it?

Is the Blower Motor Resistor easy to replace or should I bring it to a mechanic.

I was talking to my brother about it cause it's his old truck. He said he replaced the blower motor resistor January of 2011. So a little over a year ago. Could it still be that or Somthing else?

Here's how to tell turn the heat or a/c on and see if the blower only works on some speed settings and if that is the case it is the resistor the resistor can go bad especially if it's purchased at an autozone I would stay clear of that store

Motor is wearing out, brushes bad, brgs dry. Power goes to motor first than to controls. It may start blowing fuse soon. The speed controls do fail on slower settings as low runs a lot more than high. Does it always run on high speed setting ? Naturally check your resistor, it is close to the motor.

I usually run it on high about 50% of the time. How would I check to see if it's the resistor?

Try running it on the first setting low if it turns on then your looking at a new motor but if it doesn't and you have to hit or wiggle the resistor to turn it on then get a new one
