Default block heater

Who out there has the block heater on there gas f150 engine. I'm just wondering because I found the plug working on my truck the other day and found it really strange.

Mine has one it's 03 fx4. I live in mississippi but apparently sometime in it's life my truck lived up north. Dont thin I will ever nged block heater down here.

Its usually found on diesel's for the cold and apparently it was an option on gas trucks as well

Very common option in colder weather areas. Almost all the vehicle that come to Anchorage have some type of heater on them installed from the factory or by the local dealerships. My 98, 03 KR, and my Explorer all have them from the factory. My Mustang has one installed by the dealership.
