Default Big 3 wire upgrade?

Im installing a sound system in my 03 soon. Only 1500 rms of power. Has anyone done the big 3 upgrade and care to share pics/info where you placed your wires? And where the power wire is routed?
Thanks!

Route them the same as stock.

Put the aux power cable through a gromet in the firewall, same as nearly every other vehicle. Driver side. Run it along the firewall from the battery to the hole. Use black zip times and wire loom to make it look stock.

So what can you do? Google it, - there's quite a few that do what you can't, - so, at least you can learn that way..if you want it bad enough.

I'm confused you cant find the rubber plug on the firewall or you cant trace the - and + leads coming off the battery? ibd pretty much lays it all out in front of you in his guide. Hell I think my girlfriend could follow his directions haha. Not saying you cant.. But read it carefully and refer to your truck at spots. Its not that hard. Good luck.

Possibly an Amp & sub at some point, My thread asking question:

https://www.f150forum.com/f30/instal...needed-282976/

After reviewing my fuse panel & what was not being used I about decided not to run the auxilary power
Now I'm thinking it might just be a good idea
I realized I have some #1 wire in the basement left over
Might be bigger/harder to run then what I wanted (not welding wire so not that flexible)

I have 0 ga running threw the Firewall. I just made my own hole right above the pcm and put in a grommet. 1500w RMS is alot of power and you will need a heavy ga wire to support the load. You will need a minimum of 2 ga wiring to support 1500 w rms. You'll need some sort of buffer as peak amp demands will draw harder on the electrical system.
My stereo setup is right @ 1500 watts RMS. But when the system is hitting the hardest it pulls close to 270 amps. Thats the reason I went with 0ga. Its ok to run a larger wire than needed. Using a to small of a wire can cause excessive heat and cause a fire.

Yeap. Welding cable comes in handy.
