235/85R16's all the way.

Really, consider what you're getting your tires for. I wanted a bit of extra clearance under the truck without having to lift it (These tires about 32") and I wanted decent highway mileage. (narrower tire gets better mileage than wider) Also I wanted a tire which could cut through snow, and shallow mud.

The breakdown I learned with my Jeep was this.
A Narrow tire will do better on road, snow/mud less than 10" deep, and on rocks
A Wide tire will do better in deep snow/mud, and gravel/sand. Its a wash on dirt trails.
This ignores aesthetic preferences.

So you have to look at what you want to do with your truck, personally my F150 mainly stays on road, with some work in pastures. Also, living in Rochester, NY means that snow capability is a big factor as well.
