Default best octane?

Ok so I found a place that sells 64 oscane that's ethanol free. I ran a little and it seemed to last alot longer but I want to know could it hurt my truck over time. I'm currently using my new cts with the 91 octane tune and there is a noticable differance.

Ok, I was going to say, 64 you'll have massive predet and ruin your motor. 94 wont hurt anything but it doesn't burn as readily. Around here one of the 91 stations is ethanol free. Ive run it a bit with no real change. I just got a tuner so I'll try it again and see if it makes a difference with a 91 tune

Running higher octane fuel will do nothing if your motor isn't tuned for it. And it's not any cleaner like people try to say, 87 octane isn't dirty gas it's a lower octane and detonates sooner, 91 octane detonates later allowing you to run more timing.

It won't make any difference. You're just wasting money.

Wrong. 94 is so close to 93. But with the modular engines they like lots of timing. running more timing also make the engine more effiecient. I see a dramatic differnece in mpg between 87 & 93. You will also see a 15% decrease in mileage by using ethanol blended fuels.

well...my truck, with 93 and a tune it hauls compared to 87 and tune.

however my dads Mini Cooper S that requires 93...if you put in 87 (he did once on accident) ran ok, a lot sluggish and didnt run right, once he ran it dry and put in 93 it was peppy again.

Some say it will increase the mileage...but not enough to overcome the cost of it (brother figured out if he used 91 it did overcome that cost...slightly, by a few bucks a month)

^^^^ This! I couldn't have said it better! Ethanol gives you worse gas milage, pretty much water in your gas. It's BS government controlled stuff. I hate it!

You say best octane? C16... J/k there are a few sunacco* stations with 100 octane at the pump. But I've never seen one.

The higher the octane the cleaner the gas is, which won't put as much carbon in your motor.

This is inside my fuel door
