I agree 100%. I won't speak to a performance change, cause I've never dyno'd a vehicle, but I love the sound. I even had one in a Focus PZEV years ago. As far as my current truck, I have the Volant and it sounds amazing. Super easy to clean and maintain and IMHO, looks great.

No one ever does this for a "best tuner" thread......

Thanks for the help you guys. I apologize if I put this in the wrong spot. I came from a different forum where the sub category's were straight under 1997-2003. I didn't see that, but maybe I missed it.

As for the cai, I'm still uncertain on which brand.

I like the airraid, it looks sturdy and well built, but at the same time it doesn't tell me any performance specs. Where as the K&N says 13.5 hp at 4500 rpm. I'll look into the volant too.

Here are the ones I was looking at:

For the record, I have the K&N Series 57 fipk and i do not regret spending the money ( although I did find it on cl brand new, much cheaper than new). If you go that route just don't over oil it when you clean it and make sure you give it time to dry completely, and don't over clean it. Good luck with your search.

An actual answer from me on this one. I would recommend AFE products. I have used them on my other trucks including both gas and diesels and love them. I prefer the Pro S Dry filters, as they do not require oiling and you can just knock the junk out and put them back in. They work particularly well for dusty/sandy environments, which would typically gum up oiled filters.

I believe this is the one I have. I would double check though.

Well I just looked up the volant and afe, and both look really nice. The price on the volant is really intriguing since its only 215 compared to the others, but now I really don't know what to do. haha They all look nice, I just really wish companies would dyno tune there performance parts before selling them.

So it comes down to: afe, k&n, volant, and airraid... Man I just don't know which one to pick.
