My truck was rear ended a few days ago. The rear of the frame was bent down where the hitch mounts pretty badly, and upon closer inspection it looks as if the rear section of the frame unbolts at the front leaf spring hanger and a new one could be put in fairly easily. Can anyone verify this?

 

that's what I got when I previously looked at mine. Believe its riveted on thou but would be possible do remove the box, axle, and wiring and remove the rear clip. Just grind the rivets and beat it off with a sledge Proly really rusted on good. I actually had thought bout welding mine together and adding reinforcement to the rear for added weight.
