Default Bed switch??

Have a 99 5.4 extended cab with a medium bed. I believe it's a 6 footer, but I'm really not sure of the excat size. I have the long taillights and I'm really not to find of them. I like the look of the smaller rounded taillights on the later models trucks. I believe they started making them in 2000 or 2001. My question is, will the later style bed fit on my truck. Will the gas filler tube match? Will all the mounting holes match up?

Those style tailights are from crew cabs and flaresides with the 5.5' box. If you put a shorter bed on yours, everything isnt going to line up like your bumper being half a foot back and you would be able to see your frame.

It also uses a different bumper. If you want a better looking tailight try a 2008+ SuperDuty light. They change up the look quite a bit..

Flareside beds are 6.5 feet long, so if your bed is 6.5 feet long (which I believe it is because most stylesides are 6.5 or 8 feet long), it should fit, but I'm not sure how the bed mounts are on ones like yours, so I can't make any promises. I hope this helps.

Arent the flareside beds off a reg cab or a scab 6.5'? If so one of those would work but you would need a new bumper also

A 6.5' Flairside bed will bolt right on. You will need to gas tank filler. You will also need to the rear bumper along with the tailgate.
