Default Bed Externer folks

I have a 2001 Screw and have been kicking around a hair brained idea of building one of those bed extender dealios I have seen. As I kinda dont want to engineer it from the ground up ( I don't have enough crayons ) I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to give me some dimensions and possibly some pix of the hinge setup.

Thinking about using 3/4 IMC and brazing it together and spraying it with bumper paint

The hinges? like that lets it swivel to the extended position? they are the same as the latches for the tailgate. i'll get pics of the hinges for you later today if i don't forget.

It can be a pain in the butt and has caused a few dents and chips in my tailgate but it works haha and this is a factory one so I'd talk to iowaredneck about his if you really want one

I'm in Illinois...outside Chicago. Thanks for the offer, but I'm pretty sure I can build one cheaper than the shipping costs

I get IMC for <$5.00 a 10 foot stick and have more scrap aluminum that ya can shake a stick at

I assume that the hinge is on the center rail?
Does it have any kind of locking mech to keep in whatever position you have it in or is it just free flowing?

Have a few ideas floating around my little pea brain. I'll have to crack out the crayons and get to figuring

the hinge is on the center rail and the rail on the top ( when it is in the extended position) has locking pins that you push or pull on. Lmao I forgot it was in front of me in my room....
