Default Bed extender question

I have an 01 f-150 step side and I have a bed extender someone gave me. My bed doesn't have the pegs for it to hook into. My question is can I put the pegs in? Or more trouble than it's worth. They're are no holes or anything behind the bedliner thanks

I'm not sure. But I've only seen SuperCrews with a bed extender.

It's probably what it came from. The beds are the same size.

The hinge pegs are the same as the tail gate pegs and they go in the middle. No reason you couldn't get 2 from a boneyard and put them in. The keeper pegs just go into a hole with a grommet

how do they fasten? Self tapping screws or a nut and a bolt?

The bed extender ones are a tad smaller then the tailgate ones.

More than a tad:

All three are different lengths (tailgate latch, bed extender post and tailgate cable)
