Default Battery Light

So today I was pushing my truck hard, real hard. And getting up to 6 grand rpm or whatever the battery light kept flashing. I didnt notice any problems power wise, but is that an alternator sign?
I'm 200 miles from home and on a surprise trip and don't want to spend the cash on a new alternator unless I have to.

Hate to say it but it does sound like alt. is starting to go. Mine did the same thing. Before changing check your belt, that could be slipping.

Yeah that's what I figured. I'm at 110k and I've replaced everything except the alternator and belt.

But yeah, it's been a rough *** week on the truck, but it's emergency after emergency and the trucks holding up well.
