I'm thinking about puttin some bigger gears in my truck to accommodate for bigger tires so how do I tell which axle I have on the front and the back.

You can check by looking at your VIN. I can't remember what letters mean what though.

diff tags. I can tell you the front is a 8.8 reverse cut(cast on the housing itself)

What motor do you have? The 4.2 and 4.6 have a 8.8 in the rear and the 5.4L have the 9.75. All have the reverse 8.8 in the front
