Just be sure it is the correct gear ratio or bad things will happen when you engage 4WD.

My tag says:
S 976 B
355 88 8L02


The replacement I found says:
S 976 A
355 88 6M02

So they are both 8.8 with 3.55s. I think the 8L02/6M02 is a date code. I'm not sure about the 976 B vs 976 A. Any thoughts on that?

Edit: So mine is a revision B and the replacement is a revision A.

They are interchangeable. Buy it.

I doubt you have any damage to your differential.
But it is easy enough to swap out the whole thing

For sure you're going to want to put in a new shift Fork...
