Default Ash Tray

The pins on my ashtray broke off, I put screws in the spring, and then put the ashtray back in the slot. PROBLEM: It will not come out now. How do I get it out without taking the whole dashboard apart?

Have you had any luck with the ash tray? You mentioned the pins broke off and a spring. Mine popped open one day out of the blue and won't latch closed anymore. I'm having trouble removing it to find the problem. Is it held in with spring pins like a watch band or toilet paper roll? It's hard to see in there.

Had to fix mine and when I put the screws in they were hitting so it took a bit but I got it back out and put rivets in instead. Just takes some finesse to get it out
