Default Anyone ever Clay Bar

I have an 03 and i washed and dryed my truck and there is still a light film you can feel of dirt. Talkin to some of the guys around work they said its built up road grim....you can't wash it off you have to us a clay bar. I was wondering is there a really good brand and how dose it work and how expensive is it? Anyone know how long it would take i wanna get my truck ready for a local truck show and that film is the only thing standing in the way!
Thanks Guys

Check the detail forum. A bunch of people have used clay bars.

clay bar works really good, you can buy a kit at your local auto part store for like 20 bucks...the one i bought has 2 bars a shammy and a bottle of quik detail. when yo do it you gotta make sure yo;u keep the surface of the truck verrrry well lubricated otherwise youll scratch the **** out of your paint...and make sure you read the instructions right so you dont damage your paint...took me about a half hour to clay bar my truck...about and hour to do my dads..depending on how much crap is stuck to your paint is how long itll take...my dad parks by the paint shop at the ford plant he works at and hes got a ton of over spray on his truck...itll come off but you gotta use a little more elbow grease.

i got the meguiars caly bar it comes with two bars of clay, lubricatin spray( soap and water works just as good) and microfiber towel and a bottle of wax. it works pretty good just keep your surface wet. i just do like a 2x2 square on the hood at a time so i dont miss a spot.

pretty simple to use, just like everybody is saying keep it well lubricated and work in small areas at a time and wax after because it will remove wax as well as any contaminents. i have done detail work at a body shop where we use it to remove paint overspray sometimes.
