Hello. I was browsing auto parts on Craigslist as I often do. Tonight, I ran across this: Anyone building an engine???-image-456180639.jpg

The price is reasonable.....but that blower would require a purpose built engine to both support and SURVIVE the boost.

Upon further research, the GT500 blower will NOT directly bolt to a Lightning intake apparently. It requires an adapter plate....more $$$$.

Yep that m122 charger will not work on our trucks without some serious mods... just to make it bolt up. Go for the m112 for bolt on ponies.

Friend of mine makes the adapters. $1077 for the billet midplate to bolt it on. And I will have one on my pickup soon

There was one for a Lighting in the Memphis listings. Have a buddy that told me about all the stuff for one back last fall. Guy had everything for the swap.

It think it's a 122 or nothing for my truck. I'm naturally aspirated at the moment with a 4.6. I will have to build a motor for the blower regardless. So I might as well pull the trigger on the 122 because it can make a real world 60 horsepower more than the smaller Lightning blower. 900 dollars!!! Seemed cheap for a real kick *** blower.

My little 4.6 is the engine that could however. P.I. heads with matched intake, stock mustang cams, long tube headers, etc. In a 2wd standard cab short bed, it has plenty of power for a truck. But I want more. So the next motor will be a blown 5.4, hence my original post. I want that blower. Still for sale........

So where you been getting your info from?
I can tell you this much, "mustang cams" are the same as any other 2v cam
If you have a 4.6 keep it a 4.6 unless your pockets are deep....
You will need a LOT more than just a 5.4 engine and slap a blower on it.
And FYI you can buy m122's all day long for under $500
