Default Any tips for a first timer ;)

Noticed a nice little wet spot under my truck, the bottom of the gas tank is leaking. Today I'm going to order the $100 tank to replace it. I've watched a video and read most of the threads on here related to that. I get the main idea but should I also buy a new pressure sensor for the gas tank because they break easily? Anybody have anything else tricky that I might run into? Other than disconnecting the hoses?

If it were me, I would inspect every inch of the fuel pump and replace the pickup filter on the fuel pump as well as the in-line fuel filter that is outside the tank. I would also get new gas tank straps.

Didn't even think of that. I'm glad I asked. I'll do all that except for the straps, previous owner must've replaced the originals

the plastic things in the top of the tank break easily but can be super glued back together as they are just plastic.

Yea those are vents if referring to the blue deals. 1/4 turn CC and lift. EVERYTHING on the tank will break unless you hose it down with WD40 first. Make that a rule, because all the crap on top of the tank is pricey...don't break it, do it right.

I have another tip. Don't smoke, use a torch or grinder, and don't light matches underneath your truck. lol

Otherwise, what the guys have been saying. Save the plastic parts or they will cost you a bundle to replace them from Ford. Replace the fuel sock on the pump for sure.

Don't weld on the exhaust while laying down under the truck either..you'll look like a fish out of water...trust me.
