The fact that you believe that statement clarifies anything is scary. $320 would barely cover the dyno time/tuning you would need as part of a proper install. Any remotely competent mechanic wouldn't even look at that job for less than $1000.

I'm not trying to rag on you just trying to save you a headache. That's a 10 - 12hr job for a well trained mechanic and any well trained mechanic in a well equipped shop will run you $80 per hr give or take. If you have a guy willing to do it for $320 your going to end up with a half installed nightmare when he throws in the towel after realizing its a bit more involved than changing an alternator.

No you not like anyone else. Most have much more considerate ethics than you. Posting identical threads wording them a little different is pimping the forum. So you won't be defensive lol. Yea, good to know lol.

Here's this users OTHER identical thread, -

Might want to give it a look see before posting or replying to this Jack Rabbit.....so your not wasting time posting identical info.

Yeah, between the labor ($320-$400) plus the dyno tune of $375 we are up between 700-800 in labor and dyno. When I say $320 in labor I'm not including the dyno in that... Just the install labor. I probably could have worded things better. It's a shop in perry that's going to do it. I believe he said it was backed with a warranty... If not it may not be the route I go. The total for the job between labor, parts and the tune is around 5500-6000.

I am like everyone else. You call me inconsiderate because I was a S/A to someone AFTER they were a S/A to me??? And I'm the inconsiderate one... Really??? Okaaaayyyyy. I'm new to the thread and didn't know. Once I got a reply on my other thread I tried to delete this one but didn't know how.

I'd want to hear from other SC installs that shop has done and what the total cost ended up being. No mechanic in their right mind would get into that job for anywhere near $300. Hell, most charge that for a brake job.

To be honest I don't know how much shops cost for labor on anything so it sounded reasonable to me. I had mentioned earlier that I always do all work myself that's why I'm not familiar with labor cost.
