Maybe a stupid question but I've never owned or used a tablet, what does doing this do for you or allow you to do?

It allows you to have music stored in the truck, it allows navigation. When you're waiting on your date you can watch a movie. You can google restaurants or check movie times. Siri can read emails and texts to you. You can to an SCT iTSX tuner. And much more.

If it's android you can also run torque while driving and store Gps maps locally in case you're in an area with poor reception

My next setup will with the next generation Nexus. The problem with tablets is the poor sound out of them.

A DAC's will make up for that but depending on your ear, they can get pretty pricy.

I'm **** on stereo. My current setup utilizes 2 component setups from Infinity with Sellinum Tweaters, They have their own crossovers. They are powered by a Class A Sundown 500.4 amp. I also have a 12" Sundown Audio Sub with a 1500.1 Sundown amp. I have a average double din from Pioneer. but i also have a Rockford Fosgate 360.3 for sound processing

I wouldnt waste the time with a kindle. The only current benefit of iOS is the ability to take sound from usb. I'm don't know why the android tablets haven't gotten there yet but the phones have..
