Default Amplifier mounting locations?

So I installed my subwoofers, ran all the wiring except for the ground. I have two questions, where do you guys have your amps mounted and where do you have them grounded? My amp is too thick to fit under the box and it is too wide to fit in the center console. What other options do I have to keep it hidden? Please post some pictures as far as amp location and grounding. Thanks guys!

Mine is under the drivers seat since it rarely moves. I just pulled up the carpet on the side of the "pedestal" that the drivers seat sits on and made my ground there. Where you mount the amp will need to play a role in where you get your ground. I personally don't like my grounds to be longer than 24 inches. IIRC, industry standard is less than 36 inches though. With mine how I did it, it's probably only a foot long.

Were you able to hide the wires coming in pretty well? I want it to look like nothing is there. I want it to look as factory as possible on the inside.

Yes. The previous owner of my truck was a K9 cop, and he had all kinds of radio crap mounted in the truck. So there was already a little hole in the carpet underneath my seat. I just ran the wires under the kick plate (just pull up on it to remove it) and then under the carpet to that hole. The speaker wire I ran back through the kick plate and then under the interior trim pieces to the sub. Mine is a 97 though, so it only has the back door on the passenger side. Oh, and you can't see anything at all in my truck looking in the windows.

I was also going to mention, if you haven't already ran your RCA preamp wires, I suggest getting one with the remote wire attached to it. That made things REALLY nice.

I've been into the car audio game for years and have NEVER seen one of those! That's pretty cool. I hate running that skinny little wire anywhere.

This video kind of shows how it was ran. This was actually before I mounted the amp in place. Don't mind my phones distorting microphone. It's not the sub distorting.

I hear you. You may find this strange, but when I am at a wrecking yard and I see amp wiring in a car, I usually pull it out because our yard sells it for 10 cents a foot - no matter the gauge. Well.... anyway, when I was looking in a car I saw that preamp and remote wire setup and had to get me one (the one in the car was cut though).

EDIT: I got 20 feet of this for 2 bucks.

Right under the passenger front seat, there is more space there than I thought. Picked the ground up off the bracket for the tire jack bracket.

I put mine behind the rear seat back. My 3M tape has given up so I need to fix that but it makes no noise. Also I've been told to keep your ground close to the amp. I just scraped away some paint and sent a self tapping screw into the back.

Edit* I know it's not the best pic, I took this for another reason but it's the only one where it shows my amp
