Default amp issues

Well im gonna break down and ask .. I have a brutus 1800 sub amp with a kicker s12 sub; and my issue is that everytime I hit the brakes or turn on the blinker, lights etc. It makes a thump, and has a slight hum when the truck runs (changing with the rpms). I have checked ground and made sure the power and rcas are separated from interference. Any ideas? Im stumped  any help would be great!!

How close are your RCAs, power and ground to fuel pump, or other wiring in the truck? Are you using a good quality RCA, and proper gauge power/ ground? Also how far away is the ground from the amp?

My rcas run down the channel in the doorjam, and the amp is powered directly from the battery with 4 ga. Wire, and the amp has 4 ga. Ground directly to where the jack was bolted in, its about 16" long. The only wiring I can think of that's near it is the power seats on the drivers side.. a friend said that its voltage difference from the alternator and I should get a filter, didn't sound right to me

What kind of RCAs do you have? I had this problem in a car before. I had cheapo Radio Shack cables, then I got groundable Monster cables and it went away. The quality of the amp has alot to do with it too. If you have good cables and a good solid ground, I would try moving your RCAs.

And on your ground, did you scrape the paint off before you bolted the terminal down?

They are the good monster cables, and yes I made sure it was all bare metal, and even checked continuity at the amp.. you don't thinl it could be a power issue?

Are you getting a high pitched whine that gets higher with revs? Its usually a patch cable issue. As long as all your power and ground is routed correctly I would try moving the RCAs. Are you using good terminals on all your ground, power and speaker cables?
