Default All of a sudden.............

I lose forward mobility!
Hi all!
I just this summer paid the best known transmission man $2300.00 to do an overhaul on my '99 (automatic). This guy has done multiple jobs for me and is known around these parts as the "NO FAIL" or "BETTER THAN FACTORY" rebuild guy.
The truck is barely used, like weekly as a trip to the trash dump vehicle, so I estimate <4000 miles since the work.
Anyway.....a couple of days ago I noticed that upon acceleration, a very minor "bump" when leaving dead stop (only happened twice).Today, I was doing about 40 MPH, when the truck just slowed to a near stop until I shifted into 2nd gear. Went to the store, came out and all worked well EXCEPT the PARKING BRAKE reminder lamp is on, and as much as I work the pedal and release, it won't go out........very odd, don't ya think?
Any and all replies and advice will be as usual, gratefully accepted!
Thanks!

Very difficult to understand, Frank.....

One thing that is most important here is that you've got your BRAKE light on. You need to check your brake fluid level.
