I bought my 97 lariat scab back in October and I just now found out it had an alarm lol I was wondering of there was a way I could buy a remote for the alarm since I dont have one (obviously) and if I can where could I get one?

 

Yes you can buy them. Junk yards always have them.

I am not sure if the older trucks are like this but on my 01, if I turned the key on and off 10 times, the doors would lock and the keyless entry system/alarm would be in "program mode" Then you hit the lock key on the remote and it syncs the remote with the truck.

I can let you know here shortly if the older ones are like that, I am going to pick up my 97 in 15 mins

 

remote can be purchased on ebay/amazon and programming is 2nd grader easy

I have a remote for mine ..lock and unlock but it does not beep or flash lights at all.... Is there a
Way that I could make it do that?

 

I apologize for the delay...So your alarm operates properly correct?

 

While sitting in your vehicle, set the locks with your remote, manually open your door with out using the alarm and without pressing the unlock feature on the door...MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR without the assistance of electronics. If the alarm sounds and lights begin flashing let me know...

Is there something I can do to make the lights blink when I lock and unlock?

 

I've got two 3 button ford key fobs for sale. Brand new, never been programed. I bought them for my rig but later found out I had an aftermarket alarm system and they would not work. They have the lock, unlock, and panic features. Let me know if your interested.
