Actually.... my bad, scratch those previous posts. I'm having a "only 2 hours of sleep" moment. If you are getting 12 volts down to the clutch, the switch is doing its job....

with clutch disengaged.. it wont engage . must be faulty.
I can move the pulley but it doesn't spin.. needs a bit of effort. I'm unsure how easily it should spin

 

Should spin freely.. sounds like you have a bad clutch.. look at your serpentine belt also.. it may need replaced due to a bad clutch.

 

the belt looks like new. the compressor spins easily with the belt on..
but the center pulley doesn't and doesn't engage too

think ill order a whole new complete unit.. don't want to order a clutch and need a compressor too..
