Default Air Bag 25 Code

I got a new inspection sticker on my truck yesterday. After all the work I've done on it this summer as I was driving home from the inspection station, the air bag dash light started blinking 2 5. From what I've read, it appears that the resistors in the PAD switch may have gone bad. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm thinking about replacing the resistors. The part replacement looks like $95 from limited online searching so a few 5 cent parts would be my choice.

Does the light still work in the switch? Hell, I'd try to replace the resistors and see what happens. Or get a JY switch.

Thanks for the response. Yes, the light works and the 25 code is thrown whether the switch is on or off. What is a JY switch btw ?

From what I understand, which is little, the switch passes some current whether it is on or off and the PCM can tell if the light bulb is burnt out - so more than just a 1 pole switch.

JY = Junk Yard.... any key will turn it, FYI.

And yes, usually you'll get a code 27 if the light is burnt out, you are correct.

Hmmmm - the airbag code is most times 25, sometimes 21, sometimes none - I think I have a questionable ground.

OK, yeah, 21 is the code I am getting on my Expedition. I've looked up in there, and the bracket is all rusty. I have not yet dug into it because it's a spare vehicle. But I would concur that you may have an issue wit the ground connection of the bracket that holds the module. I think you are on the right track there.

Has your windshield leaked? Mine was leaking on both sides (also got the GEM), and I'm sure that is the root cause.

I'm not sure if the windshield leaks, but wouldn't be surprised if it has been. I didn't notice any water while the seats and floor were out this summer but then there were large holes in the floor for water to run through.
