I posted earlier about tips on removing my headliner. I was thinking while I had this thing out about maybe adding an overhead console. Does anyone know if the factory wiring will be there? I thought maybe the wiring harness for all the trucks would be the same.

 

Did any '97s come with over head console?

 

I have no idea, I just figured if this would be an easy bolt on now would be a good time to do it.

 

I've never seen a 97 with a overhead console let alone many at all till the newer ones.

to the original poster, did you pull your headliner down? is there anything there indicating that this is an easy modification?

 

you also have to get different sun visors because the stock ones are too long, and you also have to figure out a way to mount it.

 

I did take the headliner down. There is nothing there as far as a wiring harness or mount. I did find a guy online that sells kits for a 97. It is basically a modyfied 99 and up console. It cost $179.00. It comes with full instructions on mounting and wiring it up. Check out the link below.
