Default ABS Wheel Speed Sensor

I just have a quick question, and that is where is the front ABS Wheel Speed Sensors located? I have a 1999 5.4L with 4 wheel ABS, and dont know where to look. The haynes manual is useless and doesnt state where. I have heard they are in the hubs but not sure. So before I get diggin and pissed off, I figured I would ask.

Although I do know where the back one is, but that figures it had to be the one I dont know about. lol

Should be built into the hubs. If you have to replace a sensor, you have to replace the whole hub.

Well I just replaced the speed sensor today with a motorcraft part and found that I only had to replace the sensor. The sensor was held buy a 8mm bolt and it popped out of the back part of the spindle. Not a hard job, got the part at ford for $68 with tax.

Thanks for the help guys

I don't have 4 wheel ABS lol. One less thing to break. Now... If only I could get a 289 (or maybe a 351 Cleveland) from an old Bronco or something, soup it up, and get rid of this 5.4 and all of it's stupid computers and electronics, we'd be good to go!

At least you didnt say the 302 lol Those were good motors, but they needed so much help with the emmissions era it was unbelievable. I agree with you about the 351, as they had enough power and more than enough torque to be fun. I still like my 5.4 though; and it would be alot of rigging to do the change
