Different clearances for the front suspension. The mustang oil pan has clearance for a car sitting really low with the suspension sitting right up under the motor, meaning it dips down in different places but the truck oil pan is made for a truck obviously where the engine isn't sitting right on the front suspension, it's sitting between the frame rails above it.

Oh ok, didnt even cross my mind with the suspention. Ill be sure to have them put the oil pan and sump from the old engine along with the brand new water pump and ignition system onto the new engine.

$45 an hour isn't a bad rate at all. And the warranty is a nice bonus. I'm assuming the warranty will only cover what they did for labor and not the used engine you are installing correct?

Here are both oil pans for the different engines. They don't look that much different so you'll just have to look at them when you get them both out.

Why waste your time with a NON-PI 4.6? It wont make anymore power than your current 4.6. It will also be slug and you will hate it because it makes no torque. It beating a dead horse. It has been done and proven, multiple times. Now once you go boosted you'll see a benefit. But N/A you'll be leaving alot things on the table. Acceleration, and drivability. Dont waste your tiime for a NON-PI engine.

It will be better than the engine in it now. This one is on its last leg. Also im not looking for increased power or hp off the bat just something to keep this truck on the road and be diffrent at the same time. And maybe down the road throw some boost at the engine with a supercharger. I cant afford to rebuild the engine so i found a cheap low mile swap for it. Sure it wont have the same hauling low end torque that the truck 4.6 has but it will keep it on the road and thats my primary goal. I knew this before getting into this. Yes down the road ill do the PI upgrade. But for now this is just to get the truck running propperly again. My current engine in my truck is already a non pi engine. So it wont be any diffrent. The engine in it now has two dead cylinders.
