98 Headlight Aim
I bought replacement headlights for my 98 F150 and I'm a little confused on which adjusters to use to adjust the headlight aim.
The headlight in the image is the drivers side headlight.
I've numbered the adjusteres as 1,2, and 3.
Can anyone tell me what each adjuster is used for?
Specifically, what adjuster is for aim vertically and which adjuster is used for aim horizontally?
Thanks.

1 is the up and down adjustment, 3 is left/right adjustment.
2 is very short, you don't really mess with. It adjust diagonally, up/right or down/left.
Usually if it is set midway, then 1 and 3 can do all the adjusting.
If you make major changes with just 1, it will slightly adjust the left/right as well, but probably not something you would notice with halogen bulbs.
A good start (if your current headlights are correctly adjusted) is with them out of the truck, measure the distance of the bolt between the housing and inner adjuster nut. This should get them very close. Don't measure from the back side of the bolt, they are not always the same length.

To make it easy I unscrewed the adjustment ***** on the old lens and counted the number of turns on each. When installing the new lens I just used those numbers on each adjustment before installing the lens. They were spot on. It saves time removing the lens to readjust each time,

Hy sorry can you explain me . I can doit.? Its very dificult . Sorry im mexican. Try to do it but there is no way that any dice or wrench between the space to be able to screw. I had to remove the headlight to move but it is very tedious because the lighthouse is not in its position i could say or explain how i did it with which tool. Greetings and thanks
Can someone explain to me how to level the headlights without having to remove them from the grill? I tried to do it but the space is very small and no wrench or screwdriver comes in. Thanks to this group I already know where and how to get on or off but I couldn't do it due to the small space to put a tool. Someone has done it. Thank
The best thing is to have the correct tools. This tool is very handy for adjusting Ford headlights.
