Limited slip
Eventually you might consider installing a limited slip rear diff. That combined with good tires will give your 2WD decent off road capability. Not good enough for serious mud crawling or rock hopping , but plenty for casual off road use. A new OEM LSD sells for $250, plus $100 for a master install kit. There are various aftermarket alternatives that are stronger and have more aggressive bias ratios for a bit more money. I recently installed an Eaton TrueTrac and I love the way my truck drives with it. Not an easy beginner project, but definitely doable as you gain some experience and tools.

Here's some pictures of my POS.....got some new wheels (Raceline Shifts 9x17) wrapped with 33"
^^My friends 94 XLT F150 blew up....just helping out on the road
And here's a before pic
Still a piece but it's fun to just mess around in
Also in the time between when I last posted here got the straight pipe to a actual Flowmaster 40 series, pipe out in front of the rear passenger wheel. Turned the sound down a little but got some power back, I'm pretty satisfied.
