The cable has come completely unhooked from the top latch. Now I can't figure out how to get the door to open to be able to fix the cable. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

 

there is a video on you tube. You can get a wire in there and get it open. Do you have a friend that has a super cab?

I read that thread, but got confused and ended up finding a video on YouTube that helped.

My problem was that not only had the plastic boot eroded away, but the cable end had slipped out of the latch completely. Turns out, if you take out the one screw that is exposed on the top latch, you can get a rod (i used a 3/32 drill bit) in the screw hole to trigger the latch release.
