Default 97 spark plugs

I have a 97 f150 4.6l It does not have individual coil packs. I has 2. Does it have regular spark plugs or the ones that tend to break off in the head? It has excessive spark knock if not ruining 93 octane. I have been researching that but havnt figured it out yet>

Thanks,

Jeff

Any codes?

It has normal plugs. This model has a problem with keeping them in. Make sure to torque to 28ftlbs with no a/s. Inspect each plug you take out.

Replace your wires too.

I put normal plugs in, gap them, torque and change wires too. Runs great

Sometimes the MAF causes spark knock.

Don't run e3's they are what cost me a motor. I run NGK now with the built motor and am happy as a clam!

Cold or at least cool. Not hot. Can't go wrong with motor craft. Blow out the plug wells once you remove the boot, it collects dirt. Use dielectric grease on the boots. Torque to 28 ft pounds.
