I think there should be a code number. Do you know what it was?

Take it to an autozone or napa, o'rielly etc. they can pull the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) for you. When you get the code, re-post it on here for more help.

ok got numbers 4,5,6 cylenders misfire and codes 1537,1538 witch is intake runner control stuck open auto parts store wants 150.00 apiece but told me to do a gasket set first and see if it will go away. not counting coil pack what is worst case senario about this motor job thanks in advance.

Doing intake gaskets wont fix the IMRC codes. As far as the misfire codes sounds like you have a V6 so try replaceing the plugs and wires first then, move to the coil pack itself.
