Hi, my 1997 f150 with a 5 spd manual tranny just started grinding when I try to shift in to reverse. If I roll forward then try again, it will drop in. I just drained and filled the transmission with Mercon trans fluid. No leaks.
The forward gears seem to shift normally?
Any ideas?

 

Syncjonizers I know.its not spelled right or throw out bearing not letting it engage all the way

 

if i had to guess i would say the clutch. how many miles on it?

 

It would only b clutch if it grinds n all the gears

 

148,000 miles. Once warm it was fine. It was parked on a slope. Could that have any effect? I just changed the gear oil. Prior to that it had no issues?
