I'll pull shaft tomorrow and look at it. I did put it up on jacks and couldn't get it to do same thing. I have no codes other than converter codes ( as there are none). Although it's only bank 2?

pulled shaft, don't feel anything really wrong with joints. The one closest to tranny is really free moving but not sloppy feeling. No binding in either joint.

No need to pull the driveshaft to check u joints. Check play in all directions on the vehicle, check incline snap and visually inspect for seal compromise on zerk-less joints.

But since you have the shaft out, clean the slip yoke/spline with brakleen, follow up with a medium vap acetone w/rubbers on, so you don't contaminate surfaces. This way you apply a very thin coat of the correct Teflon grease... get perfect contact stickage.

Sounds like torque shudder to me. Usually having the transmission fluid changed out with an exchange machine usually fixes it. Worked for me anyway.

Yea I drained the converter, changed filter, 13 qts came out 15.5 qts went. I thought was all good next day doing same thing! Now that drive shaft is out I figured I would change u joints, which has created another problem. Got a set of moog u joints everything I read says same both ends, well the one at tranny is much bigger length wise than one at rear end. Same cup size different length? Of course I pressed it in and can't get it back out, probably going to have to cut it. Had a similar problem with a grand Cherokee that had two different cup sizes!

Yea, I'll usually hit Rock Auto first just to get the different part numbers before running anywhere locally to pick some up. It's usually a good site to get the numbers, even when you don't plan on ordering from them.

Here's the latest, I changed the u joints and all seems to be good on 20 mile city/ hwy trip. I try to do one thing at a time to see if that's is what fixed it! So far I changes gear oil, tranny fluid and u joints, figured I do the transfer case while I was at it. It looked the same as the tranny fluid when it came out. Now I just have install front drive shaft after I change the u joints as I can feel play in one of them. And do something about getting cats, should be good then, I hope! Thanks for all the help!!
