4wd locking up wheels
[QUOTE=caron;3195155]go under your truck and grab the driveshaft and try and turn it back and forth and watch the joints to see if theres any play dont forget there 2 on each shaft, i just replaced my rear driveshaft ujoints
note there might feel like theres play just dont mistake it for the play in the diffs and transfer case like i said just watch the joints
as for the ujoints causing it to bind i dont believe it would be the cause but if there really bad it could be possible but very unlikley[/QUOT
Gotcha. Thanks for the advice

Mine does the same thing. When I turn at full lock the truck has to try harder to move and the back wheels drag. I think it's normal because when in 4wd and when you turn it puts everything in a bind because when you turn your front wheels are moving faster than the back ones my 4wheeler does the same thing thats why I never put it in 4wd on pavement. Hope this helps, Clay
here is a video showing how a differential was designed and works. This was a training film I believe from the 1940's. Pretty cool to watch and entertaining to say the least. you might have to copy and paste the url to get it to work. But worth watching.
Nobody mentioned this, but if you don't have matched tires, (same size all around), you can get the same sensation. If one tire is bigger, with LS, you can get the same result.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. Always match tire sizes with a 4x4. No staggered sized tires/rims or the 4x4 won't work correctly and will break a ton of pieces if the size is too severe. My 02 pennies.

True. I was vague. I was just hoping that the opinions being offered would be constructive and helpful and not brash and condescending. Also if the info I gave was unclear or not enough details were provided, questions would be asked. However I do understand why one would jump to that conclusion. My apologies.
What on earth, you fellas went way off base. Fella it sounds like you need to have the front hub bearings replaced. It's stopping because it's binding. There's to much play. Your truck has limited slip front and rear. You can lock it in and drive in circles. That truck was designed to drive well by Ford . Just have a front end guy look at it . How is someone with a 4 wheeter commenting on a post about a full size 4x4 truck
