Default 4WD Electrical Issue

Hey everyone in a bit of a jam,

My 4WD auto with 4.6 just stopped working (noticed first time since summer). I have a 97F150 with a electric transfer switch on dash. I have nothing happening when i select out of 2WD....no lights on dash, no clicking relays...nada. Instead of testing everything (due to time restraints) and of course checking the obvious fuses i just took some mechanical friends advice and replaced transfer case motor. Nada. Replaced switch on dash. Still nada. Tonight im going to swap out the Transfer Case Shift Motor Relay in dash behind radio and the Transfer Case Electric Clutch Relay / RPO relay block up behind the glove department in dash.

I really dont think its the GEM b/c everything else electrical wise is workin fine....is it posssible the GEM could still be the issue?

Is there anything else anyone can think of that im missing?

I have been doing a lot of research on all forums but no one seems to have an issue with gettting no power to the switch.

Ok so without checking anything like you said in your first post how do you know there is no power going to the switch?

Im assuming now that i know i have a new switch in and im still not getting any activity while turning that switch (as in no relay tick or illumination on dash showing im in 4H or 4L) that the power is gettting cut somewhere before it gets to the switch. I have to take another look at the wiring diagram tonight but im pretty sure that switch gets signals from the GEM and the relays listed above.

I will actually check to see if theres a reading going to the switch tonight. Im just trying to gather as much info as i can before i get into it tonight after work. I usually take a better approach than this....i was hoping for the quick fix (im in wisco and the snow is a coming!) lol

So my junkyard guy didnt have time to pull all the components last night so i didnt check anything last night....doing it tonight.

Ive been told that the circuit for the 4wd starts and stops with the GEM.....the GEM will only illuminate the dash after turning switch if everything else is working properly. Doesnt narrow down the issue but at least i know where to start.
