Default 4r70w replacement

I just bought a reman transmission and I was looking for ideas on what else I should replace/do while I have it out. I had some pretty bad metal chunks and shavings in the pan that we're not on the magnet.
I was thinking of replacing/doing the following
Transmission cooler
Flushing the lines
Rear seal in the engine
And depending on how much play maybe the u-joints on the drive shaft while it's down. Any thoughts and or suggestions?

If you have that much metal in the pan you will need to flush lines and I would replace trans cooler. If you do any towing upgrade now to bigger cooler. And would be a good time to replace u-joint like you stated. Rear seal only if it leaks. I would install drain plug in tranny pan if not one.
Did the reman tranny come with torque converter? It should have, but I have seen companies sell seperate.
If not get one.

Yes it did come with a TC. I don't do much hauling it's only a 4.2. But I guess a bigger trans cooler would hurt in case I need to pull something. Or would it? And is ther a drain plug kit I can get for the pan or is it custom done? Thanks for the advise

So you got me wondering and the TC is a 1400 to 1600 stall. What does that mean exactly?

INLINE FILTER MAGNET for the Cooler
Flex Plate Bolts
New Cooler Line

Buy or fabricate a new line for the cooler. There are no solvents that can successfully remove all the residue. The residue of overheated fluid will also degrade your new system.

Don't put a drain plug on you pan because it will prevent early detection of a problem. You also want to make sure that it's safe to change the fluid before actually replacing it. If there are many metal particles on the pan replacing the fluid will only accelerate the problem.

I'd replace the rear main reguardless of if it's leaking or not, but only with a quality PTFE seal.

13.9 Quarts

Make sure you are using the right type of hose for the cooler. Also check if the dipstick o-ring is sealing properly. If your bypassing the radiator don't forget to plug the cooler line or install a hose to connect them.

Thanks for all the advise it has a cooler already and I don't do much heavy towing so I think I will just replace the cooler with a factory style. Anyone have some tips or tricks on the install of the new trans?
