Default 4r70w Intercompatibility

Hoping someone can give me some insight on this.

I am looking at buying a 2000 4r70w 5.4L 4x4 transmission for my 2003 5.4L 4x4.

What issues will I have? What rewiring will need to completed? From what I’ve seen online it’s all the same wiring harnesses and the pins are the same.

As Whitey said, 99 thru 03 and 04H use the same 4r70. Some of the later are 4r75's but those work also. Same electronics

04 Heritage has an output shaft ring gear that will cause your speedo to read 4x normal speed. Do not use a trans from an '04.

According to my Ford books and Hollander, the 04H still had the 1L3P-JA transmission and the 2L3P-FA transmission. The 04 F150 GEN 11 used the trans you are referring to.with the speed ring differences. Other model 04H could have the different gear but not in the 5.4 See the Hollander chart below
