Welp, just bought the truck a week or so ago and now it is pulling 4 codes. 5.4 triton 2v

P0125-coolant temp stuff
P1285-cylinder head temp over temp condition P0301-cylinder #1 miss fire
P0316-miss fire on start up

Can anyone direct me as to what the problem could be?? I have some ideas in my head but more help would be greatly appreciated!

P0125 Insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel control
P1285 Cylinder head overtemperature condition

Since you most like checked the coolant level, that's usually a bad CHT sensor. Is it overheating ? That's unless it is truly overheating. Check the harness connector for the CHT. It has it's own separate little harness with a connector on the front top drivers side of the engine connecting it to the ignition harness with the other inside the block cavity, front inside drivers head. Check the connections then test or read voltage. This sensor is a PITA to get to.

P0316 Misfire detected during startup - first 1000 revolutions
P0301 Cylinder no. 1 misfire detected

The 316 is generated because of the 301. You need to find out what's going on w/#1 cylinder be it coil , plug , or connector.

Which model year is it ?

it is a 2002 and it is not overheating. what does CHT stand for? Could it be the thermostat? And I will go check the harness. Now for the misfire I kinda figured it would be on of those things. I'll do some hunting around tomorrow morning. Thanks for the jnfo

Kinda what I was guessing, bad thermostat and coil #1 was shot #3&5 almost done and the other were ok so it'll be an easy fix.
