Well if you don't want a poweradder and just all motor stroke it to the 5.0 then a set of trickflows that will put you in the 400 hp range

Depending on what year your truck is you could put the lightning supercharger on it. If you have the non pi motor. Het the intake and heads from a 5.4 pi motor that in itself will take your compression up. Then throw the lightning supercharger on it and good to go. Shift kit in the trans. Programmer and 4.10 gears and than will put more pep in your step.

Negative on the 5.4l intake... You need PI heads from either motor cause they're the same and intake from a 4.6 for a PI swap...

Either way you don't want to do that it if you're going to spend that much money.

Do that, E-fans, Gotts mod, and spend the money to get a shop to do headers and 3" exhaust back. Should be close to 400hp.

If you want to spend a little more and get forged internals get http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ES...n/?prefilter=1

otherwise just get http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEM-CSMHP796-311/

With the second kit that's just an example, if your crank is perfect get all STOCK bearings not OVERSIZE. If it looks a little scuffed up or whatever get it turned and they will tell you how far oversized you'll need. Probably just .010.

Oh yeah then I like my SCT X3 but there's lots of good programmers out there. Make sure you've got Limited Slip and put 4.10s in. If you want to go nuts you can get a Detroit Locker but that's a grand you really don't need to spend. Your trans will be fine, if you really want to you can get a built one for around 3-4 grand or you could do a 4r100 swap but I would just run the one you've got till something happens, I bet it'll last a long time at 400hp.

With all that you'll have a damn quick truck and since your compression will still be stock you can add a blower later if you want. I would count on at least $4500 though. This was my plan before I cheaped out and did the PI swap and have a lot less power and no option to add a blower.

Thanks guys lots of thinking to do, when i get bak to the states next month ill have to start lookin for a good machine shop--Any suggestions if anybody lives in Norcal or Socal??
curious on mayb a power adder after i get the rebuild done if i decide i need more. im sure 400hp will be plenty of fun tho....

I never really torn down a motor myself. i have some buddys who have bin mechanics for awhile so i might see what they can do for as far as tear down goes. I currently work on c17 for the Air force so i got a lil bit of a mechanical backround, hope fully i can pick up on this build. Any recommedation on enigne rebuild books that are worth lookin into??

Thanks again for breakin down some options for me guys.

The biggest thing on tearing down is organizing and marking everything so you can get it back exactly the same. Rubbermaid makes these divided plastic trays that you can separate out all the nuts and bolts which is nice. I used sandwich baggys and just wrote on the bag what it was.

Right, that's why he needs the 4.6 PI intakeif he's doing a 4.6l PI swap. The heads from a 5.4 are the same but the intake is wider.
