I've heard a lot of bad things about the 4 prongs...the idea of needing multiple prongs doesnt make sense either.

Our trucks run Motorcraft Platnium stock...would NGK Iridiums give any gains...or any other ideas?

You have a little v6 and your gonna throw some 15 dollar plugs in there? I've suggested the 4 prongs to a couple 4.2 guys in the 04-08 and they love them. if you know what your engine runs then run them.

I love my little v6. I'd be willing to try the 4 prongs, I just want to know why they are a good choice. What makes them better than a single prong like the NGK Ir or the Motorcraft Pt? And what metal base is best? Copper is the most conductive...Iridium burns the hottest...what works best and why?

Don't buy into the advertising crap. Put OE in there and it will run like new (assuming there are no other engine issues). I just did mine 6wks ago and drove it 2300 miles with no problems. It's a V6, not a performance machine.

I agree and i wasn't saying they are bad just saying its not worth it to put expensive plugs in there unless you're doing a lot more than just plugs.
