Default 37s regear?

i have a 97 expedition eddie bauer 2wd. I read somewhere that if you get 35's you dont need a regear, but at 37's you do? this is 95% city driving, 5% light offroad. If i do need to regear, whats the cost/work entailed?

You can but it's not necessary, Its not worth the cost to put in gears in my opinion.

I'd buy a rearend with 3.73 and put it in, alot more cost effective and you'll have a spare.

I had a truck on 37's with stock 3.55's and it did fine, didn't get as good a mileage in the city but better on the hwy. you pick your poison

You probably have 3.55's but dont quote me on that...

97-03 have a 5 lug pattern and 04 and up are a 6 lug

I'm ordering 37s tomorrow and I have stock 3.31 gears ... I'll be on the lookout for a geared rearend or will be gearing at least the rear in the near future and the front before winter
