So I have a parts truck with these wheels on it, and a set of 315s that will fit. And this makes me want to swap to them! Currently I don't have 315s but I did get different wheels, which made the truck sit lower... Dont like that.

The reason it made your truck sit lower is because the tire is now allowed to be the shape it was meant to be. It will wear more evenly and last longer on your after markets as well as have a better contact patch.

Another truck in town has same setup as me, with 305s Instead of 285. I don't see how he turns at all. I replaced my own keys with lift keys bc my bars were sagging. Just to get some height back but mine rubbed a little. And I'm cranked to 24.5" hub to fender lip.
I have 3.73 and when I swapped wheels it seemed.to suck all my power away. But I've been fighting demons on this thing for a year now. Who knows.

I ran 305/70r16s on 16x10s with -24mm offset and had a little rubbing that forced me to trim. I had 315s on it at one point but the ride was terrible so I went to the 305s.

Any lift or leveling kit?

I like the 305/70r16 for offroading possibilities and would consider that size upgrade next.

You like?

I liked the 305s enough that I never ran anything else on my 16x10s. Oddly enough those nankang mudstars worked really well with the 3.55 gears and 5.4L in off road situations. Mud was cake and those tires worked. I had my ride height up front set at 23.5" from hub to fender.

Why do you say it will look like crap without the spacers? Personally, I think trucks with the tires hanging out past the fenders without flares looks like crap. Some can pull it off, but it's generally not a look that I'm fond of. Of course, opinions are like.....
