Default 2wd to 4wd?

What would you think about changing a 2wd to 4wd? How much do you think it'd cost and what all would you need? Thanks...

You'd be putting about $6000 dollars into a swap. You'd have to dich the IFS for leaf springs up front. No you couldn't switch them from a 4WD because the frames are different. The transmissions are different. You have to deal with the transfercase, completele front end swap with a lot of cutting and welding. More work than it is worth. If you need more traction, buy either a lock right locker or an aussie locker.

just buy an older beat up 4x4 f150

that way you can trash the 4x4 in the mud, and keep your 2wd clean

Level it and it should fit. Put a locker in the rear.
